24.09.26

On Thursday, 24 September 2026, the Van Buuren Museum & Gardens will host an exceptional concert in the pavilion installed in its gardens.

Two musicians trained in the Russian tradition and now based across Europe: the SenS Duo brings together cellist Ivan Sendetsky, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2026, and accordionist Vladimir Stupnikov for a distinctive chamber music programme combining contemporary works and classical adaptations.

This concert is organised as part of an evening in support of the Museum. The €90 contribution includes the concert, a welcome drink and a direct contribution to sustaining our cultural activities.

Please note: places are limited. We recommend booking early to secure your place.

VESTALIA - EXCLUSIVE GUIDED TOUR
12.06.26
12.06.26

As part of the Vestalia festival, the Van Buuren Museum & Gardens is organising an exclusive guided tour.

Over the course of an hour, you will discover the inner workings of a place quite unlike any other. How does one preserve a house-museum whose furniture, carpets, stained glass and paintings form an inseparable whole? What choices lie behind an arrangement, a restoration?
The visit then continues into the gardens, tracing their history from Jules Buyssens to René Pechère, and exploring the questions their upkeep raises today.

TIME: 1.30 pm – 4 pm
MATERIALS: Please bring your preferred materials — pencils, pens, paper, watercolours… whatever you have at hand.

New exhibition | Inner Territories
22.05.26
27.09.26

From 22 May to 27 September 2026, the van Buuren Museum & Gardens presents Inner Territories, an exhibition dedicated to two major figures of twentieth-century Belgian art: Gustave van de Woestyne and Anto Carte.

Through the dialogue of their works, the exhibition explores what connects these two artists: a deep attentiveness to interiority, nature, and the rural world — and to what a garden can mean beyond itself. Real space or landscape of the soul, it becomes here the guiding thread of a contemplative journey.

Inner Territories is conceived in partnership with the Fondation Anto Carte.

A Journey Through Time

A couple
in a Movement
Built in 1928, David van Buuren’s house presents an Amsterdam School exterior and an Art Deco interior by renowned decorators from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. With original rare furniture, carpets, stained glass, sculptures, and paintings from the 16th through to the 20th centuries, it retains the feel of a private home. The gardens, designed by Jules Buyssens in the 1920s and René Pechère in the 1960s, include the Regular, Picturesque and Rose Gardens, as well as the Labyrinth and the Heart Garden, making it an ideal place for strolling and reflection.
