The music room
Framed by rosewood, two large Japanese-inspired windows, with very low window sills, offer a magnificent view of the Picturesque Garden designed by Jules Buyssens (1872-1958). The Van Buurens hosted many concerts in this salon, the ceiling of which was raised for acoustic reasons.
Jaap Gidding (1887-1955) left his mark on the room with a gold-thread hand-embroidered tapestry on the piano and the rug with its distinctive avant-garde motifs. A magnificent tripod lamp by Belgian artist Maurice Gaspard (1890-1954) is positioned on top of the tapestry..
