Stained glass windows
Jaap Gidding (1887-1955)
The Van Buurens demonstrated their originality by asking Jaap Gidding to design a large stained-glass window with geometric motifs on the first floor landing. The warm colours, punctuated by a touch of green, filter the light differently depending on the time of day. The stained-glass window is an integral part of the house, which was designed as a total work of art.
On the first floor, we enter David’s work environment, where the atmosphere is muted and the tones are dark. Jaap Gidding’s small stained-glass window, ‘The Starry night’, gives the office a mystical touch.
